Gulfport High School is proud to announce its 12th Annual Rising Stars Event, taking place on Friday, April 17, 2026, from 8:15 AM to 1:00 PM on the Gulfport High School campus.
Hosted by the Academic Institutes of Gulfport, this event is designed to equip senior students with essential employability and life skills that extend beyond the traditional classroom. As workforce expectations continue to evolve, local business and industry partners emphasize the importance of real-world experience in areas such as job applications, interviewing, networking, financial literacy, and professional etiquette.
Through interactive workshops, mock interviews, and hands-on activities, students will engage directly with professionals from across the Gulf Coast business community. These experiences are designed to build confidence and prepare students for success as they transition into college, career training, or the workforce.
Event Highlights and Topics Include:
Financial Literacy
Students will learn how to budget, manage expenses, make major purchases, and understand the importance of saving and financial planning.
Application and Interview Preparation
Guidance and practice for completing job and college applications, along with mock interview experiences.
Polish Your Image
An introduction to professional presentation, including business and dining etiquette.
Navigating the World of Social Media
Best practices for maintaining a positive digital presence and using social platforms responsibly and professionally.
Are You Ready?
A panel of business professionals will share insights on career pathways, job readiness, and real-world success stories.
Lunch will be provided by Gulfport High School’s Culinary Arts students. Registration tables will be located in the main entrance lobby at 1 Admiral Drive and Courthouse Road.
